Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) vehichles are a short-term solution until electric vehicles can practically be driven long distances and recharged quickly. Making cross-country treks doable.
My plug-in hybrid SUV gets about 515 miles on a single tank of gas and enough electric miles to tootle around town all day on a single charge.
I average about 160-180 mpg gallon on plug-in/hybrid and about 50 mpg on hybrid alone.
My next long post will be an exploration of all-electric vechicle advancements and the plans for nationwide charging locations.
